Carol
Sackman & Blake White have been creating beautiful art for
decades. Married (to each other of course), they currently work
and reside in Dunedin, Florida.
Carol
Sackman
Carol's original art work is executed on vintage & recycled
furniture. She also paints on phones, TV's, boxes & any other
surface she can find. Her work is embellished with discarded ornaments,
found objects, original stamps & paints of different colors
& textures. Carol's work is often custom made, as well as
whimsical & may be commissioned.
Carol's
Girlfriend's began with loving dolls as a little girl, to amassing
an antique collection of 400 dolls. This evolved into constructing
soft sculpture dolls that have been exhibited in Maryland, Washington
D.C. & Florida. These particular Girlfriend's began as a
gift to girlfriends who attended a party she gave, each one
has a philosophical quote from a famous woman on its tag. Carol
says she was always attracted to fabric, glitter, & bright
colored stones & buttons (all of which were taboo to a serious
art student). Now all of these materials she shamelessly uses
in her artwork!

Blake
White
A medium in New Mexico told him that he was a cave painter in
a previous incarnation; her instructions were to “finish
the wall”. She also said that he was an apprentice to
his wife Carol in a previous life.
Blake is
a house painter by trade & has just finished his incredible
25’ long mosaic wall. He has evolved from painting walls
to telling detailed stories of life, myths & his fantasies
in the mosaics & other work he creates. He works with tile,
glass, found & discarded objects & broken china that
friends leave for him.
Blake is
a self taught artist who has always been fascinated with mosaic
& glass & has found satisfaction in the work he created
with these materials. He says that his wife Carol’s artwork
has inspired him to pursue his own exciting work. Blake, Carol
& their 5 cats live in a bright green house with turquoise
& purple trim on a large pond in Dunedin, Florida &
take ballroom dance classes!
Blake has
shown his work in various outdoor art shows in Florida, Georgia
& Wisconsin. |
